The Jaguars scored 2:10 into the third to retake the lead at 3-2.  The Irish finally scored the tying goal with 16 seconds remaining in the third to force the shoot-out on a blast from the point by Weston Ebner.  Goalie Jonah Wangsness came up huge in the shootout, shutting the door on 4 of the 5 Jefferson shooters.

The Irish then met up with the Sioux Falls Flyers in the semi-final game.  Again they would need some last minute heroics to advance to the final round.  With no scoring through the first two periods of play, the Flyers jumped up 2 goals midway through the third.  That's when the Irish finally went to work.  Ty Salak netted their first goal on a great set-up from Ethan Smith just 11 seconds after the Flyers posted their second goal.  With just under 3 minutes to play, the Irish struck again.  Matthias Klinkner buried a sweet pass from Matt Boerboom from behind the net to even things up.  Jacob Unangst put the game away with an unassisted goal with just under a minute to go.  On to the finals...

Jonah Wangsness pitched a shut-out in the championship game against the Minneapolis Storm.  The Irish jumped to a quick lead early in the first on a goal by Luke Molde (assist to George Dawson).  Luke then set up Brockton Winkler for his first goal of the night a minute later.  In the second period, Ty Salak again was the recipient of a nice pass from Ethan Smith on a 2 on 1 break, staking the Irish to a 3 goal lead.  To finish up the scoring, Brockton scored an unassisted shorthanded goal to close out the tournament.

Way to go Irish!

This set the Irish up for a semi-final match-up against Prior Lake on the Olympic rink at the UMD campus.  The boys couldn't find their skating legs early Sunday and fell to Prior Lake 2-1.  They bounced back in the Third Place game and escaped with a 3-2 victory over the  Edina Hornets.

Great job boys!
